The parents of a SEAL Team Six member who was killed when his helicopter was shot down over Afghanistan have penned a letter to President Obama, calling into question the commander-in-chief’s leadership abilities and saying outright that he ought to resign.

Billy and Karen Vaughn — who lost their SEAL son Aaron Carson Vaugh in 2011 — said they’re sick and tired of hearing the president’s monotone press conferences, absent any emotion, and frustrated with his inability to confront the Islamic State, the Daily Mail reported.

They were specifically outraged by his less-than-passionate response to the terrorist beheading of American journalist James Foley, and his near-simultaneous retreat to the golf course.

“As you bumble about in your golf cart, slapping on a happy face and fist-pounding your buddies, your cowardly lack of leadership has left a gaping hole — not only in America’s security — but the security of the entire globe,” the couple wrote, the Daily Mail reported. “Your message has come across loud and clear, sir: You are not up to this job. You know it. We know it. The world knows it.”

The letter was first published in the World Tribune.

The couple then asked Mr. Obama to resign so that someone of “courage and substance” can assume leadership — and take on the “out-of-control thug fest” in Syria and Iraq.

“And now, we have this recent, heinous event: the beheading of an American citizen by a barbaric organization you foolishly referred to as the ’JV team’ in your statements to the New Yorker magazine in January,” they wrote. “You, sir, are the JV team. It’s time for you to step down and allow a true leader to restore our honor and protect our sons and daughters. America has always been exceptional. And she will be again. You, Mr. President, are a bump in our road.”
