Justin Bieber was arrested and charged with assault and dangerous driving following a crash involving a minivan and an ATV in Perth County, Ontario.

Provincial police say the collision occurred Friday afternoon on Line 40 in Perth East township, near the pop singer’s hometown of Stratford, CBC News reported.

“The driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan engaged in a physical altercation,” according to a police news release.

Mr. Bieber, 20, was photographed riding an ATV with Selena Gomez Friday in Ontario, TMZ reported.

The singer was released on a promise to appear in a Stratford court on Sept. 29.

This isn’t the first time Mr. Bieber has run into trouble with the law. He pleaded guilty last month to misdemeanor charges of careless driving and resisting arrest after a drag race in Miami.

In July, he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor vandalism and was sentenced to two years probation for allegedly egging a neighbor’s house in California. TMZ reports his most recent run-in could trigger a violation.

And in January, he was charged with assault in Toronto in connection with an incident involving a limo driver, CBC News reported.
