Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson did more in practice Friday than earlier in the week, but remains questionable to play Sunday against his former team because of a shoulder injury.
“I think it was a step in a positive direction,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said. “We’ll get another look at him tomorrow with the trainers, then we’ll gauge him Sunday morning to see where he’s at.”
Jackson sprained the AC joint of his left shoulder last Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He said earlier in the week his intent was to play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, who cut Jackson in the offseason after his most productive season in the NFL.
Tight end Jordan Reed, linebacker Akeem Jordan, cornerback Tracy Porter and quarterback Robert Griffin III are out.
Joining Jackson as questionable are kicker Kai Forbath and right guard Kory Lichtensteiger. Forbath’s groin injury means punter Tress Way is likely to kickoff again this week. The Redskins will also have an emergency kicker “somewhere around” Gruden said.
