Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin unveiled a television ad Thursday that attacks his challenger Mary Burke for embracing Obamacare and ties her to the “Lie of the Year” that was used to sell it to voters, as the Republican looks to fire up voters during the homestretch of his tight re-election campaign.

The battle over Obamacare has raged on in tight state and federal races across the country. Mr. Walker, a possible 2016 presidential contender, has opposed the law and the federal expansion of Medicaid under it, while Ms. Burke has supported it.

In the 30-second spot, the Walker camp reminds voters that Ms. Burke remains an “unequivocal” supporter of the law, even though Mr. Obama sold it by promising people that, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.”

The promise proved impossible to keep, and independent fact checkers at the PolitiFact.com called it the “Lie of the Year.”

“It’s been called the ’Lie of the Year,’ ” the narrator says in the Walker spot, which features footage of Mr. Obama making the pledge. “And Mary Burke supports it.”

The ad then jumps to footage of Ms. Burke saying, “It doesn’t mean that the government is going to tell you which doctors to go to, or which plan to have.”

“But while millions have lost their doctors and their plans, Mary Burke says she still supports Obamacare unequivocally and wants to expand it,” the narrator says. “Wisconsin can’t afford Madison liberal Mary Burke.”

Mr. Walker is locked in a tight race with Ms. Burke, with the latest Real Clear Politics average of polls showing him with a small lead.
