DeSean Jackson was again held out of practice on Thursday as he recovers from a separated left shoulder, though Redskins coach Jay Gruden believes Jackson should be available to play against Philadelphia, his former team, on Sunday.
“I think a lot of it is just pain tolerance, some of it, and the big thing is to make sure he gets his range of motion,” Gruden said. “But as far as doing more damage to it, I would have to ask the trainer on that one, but I think he’ll be ok. He wears shoulder pads. He’ll be all right.”
Jackson said Wednesday that he “[doesn’t] plan on missing this game.” He separated the shoulder in the first quarter of a 41-10 victory over Jacksonville and played just 12 snaps.
The Redskins added center Kory Lichtensteiger to the injury report with an unspecified groin injury and was limited in practice on Thursday. Aside from fullback Darrel Young being able to go through a full practice with a sprained neck, nothing else changed from the injury report on Wednesday.
Defensive end Kedric Golston (strained left groin), inside linebacker Akeem Jordan (sprained MCL in left knee) and cornerback Tracy Porter (strained hamstring) did not practice, while kicker Kai Forbath (strained right groin) was limited in practice.
Running back Roy Helu (strained left quadriceps), left guard Shawn Lauvao (unspecified knee strain) and outside linebacker Brian Orakpo (sprained right ankle) did not miss any time Thursday.
For the Eagles, inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks did not practice for the second consecutive day because of a right calf injury. Two other starters were listed as having been limited in practice: Defensive end Fletcher Cox, who has been battling an unspecified back injury, and cornerback Cary Williams, who has strained one of his hamstrings.
