TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie says he’s growing tired of the legislative committee investigating politically motivated lane closures on the George Washington Bridge.
Christie on Thursday blasted the committee for leaking documents to the media. He accused its members of being more interested in getting their names in the newspapers and on television, and he urged them to finish up their work.
The remarks were some of Christie’s harshest yet against the committee, which includes both Republicans and Democrats.
Committee co-chairman Assemblyman John Wisniewski says the governor’s office has not turned over some documents it has requested, violating its pledge to cooperate fully.
He says the leaks don’t impact the committee’s work.
The committee is investigating who among Christie’s aides ordered the lanes closed, apparently in a bid to punish local politicians.
