A day after the clinch, they rested.

The Nationals will put out a lineup of backups, from the mound to the outfield, against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night. It will be the first break for the regulars at the end of the season, one likely needed after a night of imbibing large quantities of alcohol during the postgame celebration.

Gio Gonzalez was scheduled to start. He’ll be replaced by Blake Treinen. Treinen (2-3, 2.18 ERA) is making his sixth start of the season.

The lineup is interesting:

1. Michael A. Taylor (8)

2. Danny Espinosa (6)

3. Kevin Frandsen (5)

4. Tyler Moore (3)

5. Nate Schierholtz (9)

6. Steven Souza Jr. (7)

7. Jeff Kobernus (4)

8. Sandy Leon (2)

9. Treinen.

The Nationals still are pursuing the National League’s best record, so the regulars should be back at it Thursday in Miami.
