Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton leads several would-be Republican presidential contenders in a hypothetical 2016 match-up in North Carolina, but trails when put side-by-side with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
Mrs. Clinton leads by 8 points, 48 percent to 40 percent against GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and 7 points, 45 percent to 38 percent, against New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, in a would-be presidential contest. She leads Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky by 5 points, 46 percent to 41 percent, according to the survey from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.
Mr. Bush leads Mrs. Clinton by 2 points, 45 percent to 43 percent, and Mr. Huckabee leads her by 1 point, 46 percent to 45 percent. The margin of error for the survey of 1,266 likely voters taken from Sept. 11-14 is 2.8 percentage points.
