First lady Michelle Obama had nothing but praise for the billion dollar Spanx industry during her White House fashion forum, calling the secretly slimming material that’s taken the shapewear field by storm a source of “pride” for women to wear.

Indirectly, she also admitted to wearing the intimate items herself.

“Spanx is a multibillion dollar company … and we all wear them with pride,” the first lady said, the New York Daily News reported.

Mrs. Obama made the remarks during the first Fashion Education Workshop, during which she addressed a gathering of fashion students.

She referenced Sara Blakely, the founder of Spanx — who worked at Disney World and then sold office supplies in the years it took to get Spanx off the ground — as an example of what it takes to succeed in the fashion world.
