President Obama’s arrival in southern California Thursday was greeted by a ripple of discontent about the administration’s handling of the Ebola epidemic.

Bumper stickers reading “EBOLA,” with the middle letter replaced by the iconic Obama campaign “O,” have appeared on cars in the Los Angeles area. Truth Revolt, a conservative news site, published photos of three cars with the stickers on Wednesday.

The president’s fundraising trip begins Thursday night at the home of actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Several posters depicting actress Ms. Paltrow as an “Obama Drone” have surfaced near her Brentwood home. One such poster near an elementary school includes a handwritten addition in black ink with the words “party @ Paltrow’s 4 a deadly African virus,” a reference to Ebola.

Ms. Paltrow is hosting the fundraising dinner where tickets range from $1,000 to $32,400 per person.

It’s the 57th Democratic fundraiser for the president this year, although he has been shunned by many congressional candidates on the campaign trail.

“From the money running their campaigns to their records, President Obama’s influence is everywhere in the midterm elections even as Democrats pretend to run from him,” said Republican National Committee spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski. “The reality is the first vote they take in the Senate will be for Harry Reid and the second, third and fourth votes will be for Obama’s agenda.”

Mr. Obama is taking part in a town-hall event on the economy, and on Friday will declare a portion of the San Gabriel Mountains as a national monument.

He’ll also attend another Democratic fundraiser Friday at the home of restaurateur Michael Chow.
