Perry Riley will likely not practice on Wednesday as he continues to undergo tests related to a knee injury he sustained in the Washington Redskins’ 27-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday.
Riley, the Redskins’ starting jack linebacker, injured his left knee early in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard scramble by Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson. He left the game, returned, and then left again on the Seahawks’ final drive, playing all but nine defensive snaps.
Coach Jay Gruden said after the game that Riley sprained the MCL, and he said Tuesday that the injury was “the most concerning” of those sustained by players during the game.
“Moving forward, he’s probably the one that’s the most significant,” Gruden said. “The rest of them will be day-to-day.”
That includes outside linebacker Brian Orakpo, who sprained his right ankle — the same one he injured in training camp — when he was rolled on by Seattle tight end Cooper Helfet. Right tackle Tyler Polumbus dislocated a finger on his right hand, and free safety Ryan Clark said he injured both of his ankles in the fourth quarter.
And, that also could include tight end Jordan Reed, who missed his fourth consecutive game Monday after straining his left hamstring in the season opener at Houston. Reed went through a workout three hours before the game against the Seahawks, but the athletic training staff determined Reed was not yet ready to play in the game.

“We’ve got high hopes for him as far as being active this week [at Arizona], but we’ll have a better understanding [Wednesday] afternoon at this time whether he’ll be up or not,” Gruden said. “Hopefully, he has a good practice and is ready to go, because he’s a much-needed part of this offense.”
OLB Jeffcoat added to roster among series of moves
The Redskins made a handful of roster moves Tuesday, waiving cornerback Richard Crawford and strong safety Akeem Davis, signing outside linebacker Jackson Jeffcoat off their practice squad and releasing rookie tight end Ted Bolser from their practice squad.
Crawford, inactive on Monday, was re-signed to the Redskins’ active roster last week after being released from the practice squad on Sept. 9. Davis has also spent time on the practice squad and has played in all but the opener, primarily on special teams.
Bolser was a seventh-round draft pick out of Indiana, while Jeffcoat was signed to the Redskins’ practice squad before the season opener.
The moves leave one vacancy on the Redskins’ 53-man roster but two on the practice squad — spots that will presumably be filled by Crawford and Davis.
