Tight end Jordan Reed, who has missed the last three games because of a strained left hamstring, is inactive and will play Monday night when the Washington Redskins host the Seattle Seahawks.
Reed, listed as questionable on the injury report, worked out for strength and conditioning coach Ray Wright three hours prior to kickoff. He caught passes, ran routes and cut on the grass for approximately 20 minutes before retreating to the bench.
The tight end played just seven plays in the season-opener at Houston before leaving the game. He returned to practice this week for the first time since before that game, participating in a limited fashion in three consecutive sessions before being given Saturday off to recover.
A third-round pick out of Florida a year ago, Reed has played in just 10 games during two seasons, missing the final six games of his rookie year after sustaining a concussion.
His replacement, Niles Paul, is active and will play against the Seahawks. Paul sustained a concussion in the second quarter of the loss to the New York Giants on Sept. 25, but had passed all subsequent stages of the league’s protocol for concussions.
Also active on Monday is left tackle Trent Williams, who left the game against the Giants with a dislocated right kneecap. Williams was kept out of practice on Tuesday and limited on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but has not missed a game because of injury since 2011.
Defensive end Kedric Golston, who has also been out since the opener because of injury, is active on Monday and will make his return. Golston strained his left groin against the Texans and has worked out prior to each of the last three games, but has been unable to play.
Strong safety Trenton Robinson, who sustained a high left ankle sprain in the game against the Giants, is also inactive and will not play. Joining he and Reed on the sidelines will be wide receiver Santana Moss, right guard Spencer Long and cornerback Richard Crawford, who was re-signed a week ago.
The Redskins previously ruled out quarterback Robert Griffin III, who is still recovering from a dislocated left ankle, and cornerback Tracy Porter, who aggravated his strained right hamstring in the loss to the New York Giants on Sept. 25.
Left guard Shawn Lauvao, who missed the game against the Giants after experiencing swelling in his right knee, is active and is expected to start. Strong safety Jamarca Sanford, signed alongside Crawford last week, is also active and should play on special teams.
Running back Christine Michael, outside linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis, wide receiver Kevin Norwood and defensive end Greg Scruggs are inactive for Seattle. The Seahawks previously ruled out tight end Zach Miller, who underwent surgery on one of his ankles last week, as well as cornerback Tharold Simon (unspecified knee injury) and left tackle Alvin Bailey (strained oblique).
