A hospital just outside of Washington said late Friday the patient it admitted with Ebola-like symptoms has malaria, and not the deadly virus that has ravaged West Africa and a patient who tested positive in the Dallas area.

Officials at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Md., announced the test results shortly after federal officials assured the American public that U.S. infrastructure should be enough to contain the Ebola virus on American shores.

“We appreciate the excellent work of our clinical team including physicians, nurses and staff, in handling the care of this patient,” the hospital said in a press statement. “We also appreciate the partnership of county, state and federal agencies on this case.”
