CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Officials at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are banning students from traveling to three countries because of concerns about Ebola.

A message distributed campus-wide Wednesday says students cannot travel to Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea. The message says faculty and staff must get permission from their deans and the provost before traveling to those countries.

WRAL-TV reported (https://bit.ly/1wdk6HN)that the message was distributed by Chancellor Carol Folt and Bill Roper, dean of the UNC School of Medicine and chief executive officer of the UNC Healthcare System.

Folt and Roper say they’re aware that international students have ties to these countries but advise them to not visit until the epidemic is over.
