Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson has starred in a flurry of political ads in his home state as election day nears.
A YouTube video was released on Monday for Louisiana House GOP candidate Zach Dasher, and on Wednesday three were released by the faith-based organization American Renewal Project. Mr. Dasher is the A&E star’s nephew.
“You Christian folks sit on them pews and you don’t go register to vote. Half of you don’t even register, and only half of the ones of you are registered actually vote. Duh! If you want more of the same of this politically correct crap, just keep sitting on the pew and you’re going to get more of it. It’s time for the godly to step forth and vote godly men into office to make our political decisions,” Mr. Robertson said on Oct. 29 for American Renewal Project.
In his ad for Mr. Dasher, the Duck Dynasty star made sure to stress the importance of the First and Second Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.
“Hey Louisiana, bibles and guns brought us here, and bibles and guns will keep us her. Zach Dasher believes in both. That’s why I’m voting for him,” said Mr. Robertson.
The Republican candidate is running for Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District against Rep. Vance McAllister and Democrat Jamie Mayo. Mr. McAllister garnered national attention in April when video surfaced of the married man kissing one of his female staffers.
