Michigan Sen. Debbie Stabenow has taken a brief hiatus from her senatorial duties, stepping in the shoes of a Hollywood extra while making a cameo appearance in an upcoming superheroes movie being shot in Detroit.

Mrs. Stabenow will be seen in the soon-to-be-released “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the Democrat said Tuesday during an interview with “Michigan’s Big Show” radio program.

Mrs. Stabenow said she’ll be one of 300 extras, but wouldn’t comment further.

“I’m a huge movie buff and … it was fun. I was part of 300 extras they brought on,” she said. “I really can’t say anymore than that. We all signed forms of confidentiality but … I will tell you it was really terrific.”

Mrs. Stabenow also used the venture to double down on the idea of bringing more movie-making opportunities to the state.

“I have reaffirmed my commitment to having the movie industry in Michigan,” she said during the interview. “When I talk to folks about what the governor did a few years ago, cutting the movie tax credit, I’m hopeful we can get that benefit back.”

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is set for an early 2016 release.
