The local WPIX-TV reported that the body of a beheaded woman was found in Farmingdale, New York, near the Long Island Rail Road station.

Police say that a man jumped on to the railroad tracks and killed himself shortly after the beheading occurred — but are not yet tying the beheading to the suicide, The Blaze reported.

Nassau County police said they don’t have clear evidence the two incidents from Tuesday evening are linked.

But police told NBC New York that authorities have in fact started investigating the incidents as a murder-suicide. Sources also told NBC New York that the woman who was beheaded was in her 60s.

The Blaze reported that law enforcement say the woman found beheaded could be the mother of the man found on the railroad tracks.
