California Highway Patrol police officers have been accused of taking the nude photos that women they arrest have stored on their cell phones and distributing them for friends to see.
At least three officers have been named in what one described as a “game,” Fox News reported.
Sean Harrington, a 35-year-old officer in the San Francisco Bay Area, confessed that sending out the photos was a common pastime in the CHP Los Angeles office, the Contra Costa Times reported.
Officer Harrington, who’s been on the force for five years, said he’s done the deed a “half dozen times in the last several years,” Fox News said.
None of the officers has been charged.
But CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow said he’s angry with the police.
“[The allegations] anger and disgust me,” Mr. Farrow said, Fox News reported. “We expect the highest levels of integrity and moral strength from everyone in the California Highway Patrol, and there is no place in our organization for such behavior.”
