The one-time Texas Ranger says it’s time for a new sheriff in town.

Chuck Norris, the martial arts guru who starred in the popular television show “Walker, Texas Ranger” and movies like “The Way of the Dragon” with Bruce Lee, has thrown his support behind Republican attorney general Greg Abbott, who is running to be the next governor of the Lone Star State.

“We have seen what weak leadership does for our country,” Mr. Norris said. “So let’s not let that happen to Texas.”

The San Antonio Express-News reported that Mr. Abbott, who is running against Democrat Wendy Davis, joked that he’s changing his political platform “with a two-word plan to secure our borders. And those two words are Chuck Norris.”
