President Obama and the White House stayed mum for more than three hours after one of the U.S.’s closest allies had been terrorized by gunmen.
It’s not because the White House team has been too busy.
Mr. Obama has a light schedule today, with no major activity beyond his daily briefing until a 3:00 meeting with Ebola Czar Ron Klain.
Last night, the White House was quick to mourn the passing of longtime Washington Post Editor Ben Bradlee with an official statement.
That’s fine, but where was that urgency today?

White house spokesman Josh Earnest addressed the “outrageous” attacks during his regularly scheduled afternoon press briefing.
