The National Institutes of Health updated the status of the first Dallas nurse to contract Ebola from “fair” to “good” Tuesday.

Nina Pham, 26, became infected while treating Thomas Eric Duncan — the Liberian man who brought the virus to the U.S. in late September and died Oct. 8 — at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

Ms. Pham was transferred to the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland, while a second Dallas nurse, 29-year-old Amber Vinson, was taken to Emory University in Atlanta.

NIH said Ms. Pham has “expressed her gratitude for everyone’s concerns and well wishes.”

“Ms. Pham’s clinical status has been upgraded from fair to good,” NIH said. “No additional details are available at this time.”
