Monica Lewinsky, of former White House intern fame, has shed her antisocial image and jumped aboard the Twitter bandwagon, sending out her first post Monday.

Her first message?

A fanfare and blunt announcement of what’s to come: “#HereWeGo,” she wrote, from @MonicaLewinsky, Buzzfeed first reported.

Ms. Lewinsky has maintained a major media silence since her White House days, when she upset a nation with her reported sexual dalliances with former President Clinton. One of her first forays back into the limelight came in June, when she penned an essay for Vanity Fair speaking of her desire to rise “above the parapet” and make sense of her past.

Fittingly, perhaps, it was that magazine that responded to her initial tweet.

“Please join us in welcoming Monica Lewinsky to Twitter. Seriously!” the magazine tweeted.

Already, Ms. Lewinsky has more than 3,000 followers. Her Twitter profile describes her as a “social activist, public speaker, contributor to vanity fair. Knitter of things without sleeves.”
