Tanzanians trying to root out the evil behind a man’s impotence said an elderly woman and her 45-year-old daughter were witches who had cast spells on them.
The group of men slit their throats and then chopped their bodies into pieces, said police Chief Justus Kamugisha, who serves the village of Ihugi in Tanzania’s northern Shinyanga province, Agence France-Presse reported.
A neighbor of the women said they had cast a spell that rendered the man unable to have sex, AFP reported. The same women were accused a year ago of poisoning the mother of another man, who was arrested in connection with their deaths.
“The victims were attacked as they were about to take their evening meal,” Chief Kamugisha said, AFP reported.
Last week, seven people in western Tanzania were accused of witchcraft and burned alive.
