Move over, Mr. President. First lady Michelle Obama has found a new dance partner — a softball-sized turnip, which she holds closely in her hand while rapping and bobbing in a new and brief video to promote healthy eating.
The six-second spot, posted on the White House Vine account, came in response to a tweeted question from Barack Obama impersonator Imman Crosson, @AlphaCat, who asked in a #AskTheFirstLady segment: “How many calories do you burn every time you ’turn up?’ “
Mrs. Obama took that phrase and ran with it — with a twist.
Her short rap includes her saying, “Turnip? For what.” CNN reported the lyrics are plays on 2Chainz’s “Turn Up” and DJ Snake and Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What.”
