The Washington Wizards exercised their contract options on Bradley Beal and Otto Porter, the team announced Tuesday.
“Bradley and Otto are both big pieces of the core group of players that we will build around as we continue to improve our team,” general manager Ernie Grunfeld said in a press release. “We look forward to them playing significant roles in our success both now and in the future.”
The team had to decide by Oct. 31 whether to kick in the fourth-year option for Beal and the third-year option for Porter.
Porter has had trouble getting on the court since the Wizards made him the third overall pick out of Georgetown in the 2013 NBA draft.
Selected third overall the previous year, Beal has blossomed into a star but will miss about six weeks after undergoing surgery Sunday to repair a fractured wrist suffered last week.
