Republican holdouts for a Mitt Romney for president in 2016 can let go the hope.

Mr. Romney will not be making any White House campaign moves — and that’s the word from one who knows him best, his wife, Ann.

“[We’re] done, completely,” she said to the Los Angeles Times. “Not only Mitt and I are done, but the kids are done.”

She made the comments while discussing a research center that she and her husband are launching — in her name — in Boston, The Hill reported. The center will focus on finding cures for Alzheimer’s Lou Gehrig’s and multiple sclerosis.

Mr. Romney has been a talked-about candidate for the presidency in 2016 — but has hardly fueled that talk. At best, he’s remained coy, while making a series of public appearances in recent weeks on national television and radio, and while campaigning for selected congressional and gubernatorial Republicans. It’s that activity that has left some wondering if he’s going to give the White House another try — but Mrs. Romney was clear, the answer is no.

“Done. Done. Done,” she said, to the Los Angeles Times.
