Sandy Hook Elementary School in Monroe, Connecticut, was evacuated Wednesday morning because of a bomb threat.
A bomb threat was called into the school at 9:39 a.m., but nothing was found after a search of the school, Monroe police said.
Students were evacuated and brought to a neighboring school, a local NBC affiliate reported.
Students from Sandy Hook Elementary School have been attending classes in the former Chalk Hill School Monroe since January 2013, weeks after 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 first-graders and six staff members during a rampage in their Newtown school.
Architects have designed plans to build a new school on the Newtown site, but construction is not expected to begin until next year, the station reported.
