Two crew members were killed when the Idaho National Guard Apache helicopter they were flying in crashed just south of the Boise Airport, authorities reported.

Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan sent out a tweet about the disaster, KTVB-TV reported: “National Guard downed Apache helicopter at W. Hollilynn Dr/S Pleasant Valley Rd. Boise #Fire on scene.”

Meanwhile, Idaho National Guard spokesman Col. Tim Marsano confirmed the deaths of the two crew members, KTVB reported. They were on a nighttime training mission when it went down, he said.

The names of the killed were not immediately released, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
