One person was killed and 13 more injured in east Jerusalem when a Palestinian man smashed his car into a crowd at a rail platform in an apparent act of terrorism.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the driver slammed into the platform, backed out and then tried to drive away, but collided with several cars, Fox News reported. He then jumped from the vehicle and attacked several civilians and police officers with a metal bar before police shot and killed him.
Authorities identified the man as Ibrahim al-Akri, 38, who had recently been released from prison.
“One person was killed and about a dozen people were injured in the terror attack,” Israeli police said, Fox News reported.
This is the second such incident in Jerusalem in two weeks. Another Palestinian man on Oct. 22 purposely drove his car into a crowd of people by a rail station, killing two, including a 3-year-old girl, Fox News reported.
