The social media folks for the Dallas Cowboys have gone into damage control, trying to turn back the laughter that’s come from a recently tweeted announcement of the team’s upcoming London match, unfortunately billed with the hashtag #CowboysUK.

As readers quickly pointed, it’s almost as if the team were declaring “Cowboys Suck,” the New York Daily News reported.

As one Twitter writer posted: “#Cowboysuk. I’ve been saying that for years.”

And another: “haha #CowboysUK yes, yes they do.”

Yet another: “In other news the Dallas Cowboys really created the #CowboySUK themselves?!? How foolish can you be?”

And one more: “I’m happy to see now even the organization realizes that the #cowboysuk.”
