A Black Hawk helicopter crew from the Arizona National Guard is in hot water over a surprise candy drop on an unsuspecting neighborhood Halloween party.

“I didn’t know if it was going to be a crash, or an attack, no clue,” a resident told a local Fox affiliate Oct. 31 regarding the surprise for 36th Street and Camelback Road.

“Somebody said that helicopter dropped some packages and go, oh my god, now what is this, some cartel? What is this,” another resident added.

The Arizona National Guard released a statement saying, “The incident was not sanctioned by the Arizona National Guard and will be investigated further to ensure it does not occur again. …The Arizona National Guard does not authorize nor condone the use of military aircraft or equipment for personal use,” the station reported.

Officials are not releasing the names of military personnel involved with the unauthorized fight, which originated from Arizona’s Papago Park Military Reservation, the station reported. The crew did have a training mission to attend, but temporarily deviated from its scheduled course to deliver the sweets.

Eight individuals have been suspended from flying for the duration of the investigation, the station reported.
