Oregon police say they’ve found the body of a 6-year-old boy whose mother called 911 to say she’d tossed him off the Yaquina Bay Bridge.

Newport Police Chief Mark Miranda said in a press conference that authorities found the body near the Embarcadero resort, Fox News reported.

Chief Miranda described the mother’s telephone call to emergency services as calm and said she’s since been cooperative with police. She’s also been taken into custody for questioning, KPTV reported.

Both the Coast Guard and Lincoln County authorities were dispatched to search for the boy, as well as the sheriff’s marine patrol and other rescue personnel, Fox News reported. An official told The Associated Press that the body was found floating near a marina.

This isn’t the first time a mother has allegedly tossed her children off an area bridge. In 2010, Amanda Stott-Smith was sentenced to 35 years in prison for throwing her two young kids off a Portland bridge, Fox News reported.
