Michelle Obama tells blacks to vote Democrat — it’s the right thing to do

First lady Michelle Obama told a television audience composed of mostly black watchers that voting Democrat was really the right thing to do — the only thing to do.

“That’s my message to voters,” she said, to “NewsOne Now” host Roland Martin on TV One. “This isn’t about Barack. It’s not about the person on the ballot — it’s about you. And for most of the people that we’re talking to, a Democratic ticket is the clear ticket that we should be voting on, regardless of who said what or did this. That shouldn’t even come into the equation.”

Mrs. Obama went on to say that voting is crucial, no matter “who’s on the ballot,” she said, Newsmax reported.

But her efforts to drum up the black vote may be in vain.

“African-American surge voters came out in force in 2008 and 2012, but they are not well positioned to do so again in 2014,” said pollster Cornell Belcher, in a confidential memo obtained by The New York Times. “In fact, over half aren’t even sure when the midterm elections are taking place.”

The same pollster also predicted “crushing Democratic losses across the country” if Democrats didn’t rally the black vote, Newsmax reported.
