ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Occupy Wall Street-inspired hecklers tried to interrupt Republican Senate hopeful Joni Ernst at a rally in Iowa on Monday night, but they were quickly shut down and scared away by crew of fraternity brothers.

In fashion consistent with the deceased Occupy movement, a crew of students at Iowa State University aimed to shout down Ms. Ernst with a number of canned slogans rambling about the Koch brothers and “dirty money,” National Review reported.

But they weren’t counting on a crew of Alpha Gamma Rho brothers who began “bouncing” the protesters from the room and drowning out their ramblings with clapping and louder chants of “Joni.”

Ms. Ernst smiled and waved, but she had some parting words for her scurrying opponents, alluding to her military service to put the hecklers in their place.

“Don’t worry folks, I’ve seen worse. But it was in Iraq,” she said. “That’s why I serve in the military: to protect our rights as United States citizens and their right to demonstrate.”

In repayment for their service, the frat bros were invited to sign the Ernst campaign bus.
