INDIANAPOLIS — DeSean Jackson was helped off the field with 2:14 remaining in the third quarter of the Washington Redskins’ game against Indianapolis with bruised right fibula.
Jackson was streaking down the left sideline past Colts cornerback Josh Gordy when he fell to the turf and immediately grabbed his right leg. Though Gordy was flagged for pass interference on the play, it did not appear as though Gordy was responsible for Jackson’s injury.
McCoy, left tackle Trent Williams and wide receiver DeSean Jackson hovered over Jackson while he was being attended to by the team’s athletic training staff. After a brief examination on the sideline, Jackson was taken by a cart to the locker room.
Jackson missed a handful of plays earlier in the game when, three plays into the third quarter, he was hit low by Colts strong safety Mike Adams. Following an 18-yard reception along the right sideline, Redskins fullback Darrel Young ran into Adams, who then fell into the side of Jackson’s right leg.
Outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, strong safety Brandon Meriweather, defensive end Kedric Golston and cornerback Chase Minnifield all also missed significant portions of the game because of injury.
