An Alabama man who fled police during a raid on his home for suspected drug offense was ultimately caught by his own dog, Bo.
Police say they were serving a search warrant for drugs on the home of Edward Melvin Henderson, when he fled the scene and took off toward the woods, CNN reported. So investigators with the Prattville Police Department turned to Mr. Henderson’s own dog, Bo, a pit bull-husky mix and ordered him to “go get him,” CNN said.
The friendly pooch took off in the director of his owner, with police in hot pursuit.
Police ultimately discovered the dog, tail wagging, in tall grass — and after approaching, saw Bo had led them right to their suspect.
“Henderson was taken into custody without further incident, thanks to his dog Bo,” police said in a statement, CNN reported. “The search warrant resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine and components from a meth lab.”
Mr. Henderson was charged with failure to obey police, two counts of unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bo, meanwhile, was put in the custody of relatives.
