The Rev. Al Sharpton — fueled by a hurtful comment from his daughter and aided by a diet that’s fit for the birds — has dropped from 305 pounds to 129 pounds.

And he swears he’s never going back to his porkier days.

“I’m never going to be fat — never again,” he told the New York Daily News. “[I feel] younger and more energetic.”

Mr. Sharpton’s obesity may actually have saved his life when he was stabbed in the chest in 1991. But since, he’s suffered from several negative comments about his weight. Mr. Sharpton said he finally got sick of it when his daughter joined in the crowd of taunters.

“I could take all the cartoons in the tabloid newspapers, but I couldn’t take my daughter punching me in the belly and asking why I was so fat,” Mr. Sharpton said, in the New York Daily News. “That was my inspiration to lose the weight. And probably the last time anyone hurt my feelings.”

So how did he do it?

He said he eats standing up, and follows a strict diet and exercise program.

His daily menu includes three slices of whole wheat toast, two bottles of fresh green juice, salad and a banana.

“I’m conditioned now so that I never get hungry,” he said, in the news outlet. “I’m healthier now than when I was obese.”
