Though Jason Hatcher declined to go into detail about exactly when and how he injured his right knee, the defensive end made it clear Friday that he expects to play in Indianapolis.
“It’s responding well,” Hatcher said of the knee. “I’m looking forward to playing. I have all expectation of playing this week.”
Hatcher was a limited participant in his return to practice Friday. He is one of seven Redskins listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, though all but cornerback E.J. Biggers (concussion) are expected to play against the Colts.
Hatcher did not discuss the extent of his knee injury, which coach Jay Gruden described Thursday as “a little lingering soreness — just from wear and tear.” The 32-year-old lineman said he had an MRI examination on the knee, which came back clean. He later clarified that he sustained the injury on the field and played through it last week in San Francisco.
“It happened. It was a little freak accident. I don’t want to go into details about it. Something that happened,” Hatcher said. “But it’s good though. It wasn’t nothing. The MRI came back good so I’m looking forward to keep progressing throughout the week and play on Sunday. I’m excited.”
Meanwhile, left tackle Trent Williams (sprained MCL) and tight end Jordan Reed (strained right hamstring) were full participants in Friday’s practice. Though they are listed as questionable, each has expressed optimism about returning to the lineup this week.

Defensive lineman Chris Baker (strained right sternoclavicular joint), safety Ryan Clark (torn biceps) and running back Silas Redd (bruised ribs) were limited in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable.
Biggers will most likely miss Sunday’s game as he continues to recover from a concussion sustained last week against the 49ers. The nickel cornerback has not participated in any portion of practice this week.
“I would say he has a shot,” Gruden said, “but it’s probably a long one at best.”
