After missing the Washington Redskins’ 17-13 loss at San Francisco because of injury, left tackle Trent Williams is “definitely optimistic” he’ll be able to play when his team visits Indianapolis on Sunday.

Williams completed a full practice on Thursday for the first time since he sprained the MCL in his right knee and sprained his right ankle in a loss to Tampa Bay on Nov. 16. Rookie Morgan Moses replaced Williams for much of the game against the Buccaneers and also started in his place against the 49ers.

“I’m not expecting it to be 100 percent, but as long as I can be effective, [I’ll play],” Williams said.

The game was the first Williams missed since 2011, when he was suspended for the final four games for violating of the league’s drug policy. He also sprained the MCL in his left knee that season and missed two games.

Cornerback E.J. Biggers, who is recovering from a concussion sustained on Sunday, did not practice for the second consecutive day and is in danger of missing the game against the Colts. According to the league’s concussion protocol, players must participate in at least a non-contact portion of practice by Friday to be able to play in a game two days later.

Biggers would presumably return to the nickel cornerback role after Tracy Porter was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday. When Biggers and Porter, who sprained the acromioclavicular joint in his right shoulder in the third quarter, left the game with injury, strong safety Trenton Robinson shifted over to replace them.

“We want to make sure E.J.’s obviously 100 percent,” said coach Jay Gruden. “He’s gonna go through the proper measures, and if there is any lingering side effects whatsoever — obviously, safety first with these players — we’ll have to work out some guys inside at the nickel.”

Defensive end Jason Hatcher did not practice for the second consecutive day because of soreness in his right knee — “a little lingering soreness, just from wear-and-tear on his body,” Gruden said — but is still on track to play Sunday. Running back Silas Redd (bruised ribs) also missed practice again.

Nose tackle Chris Baker (strained right sternoclavicular joint), free safety Ryan Clark (torn biceps) and tight end Jordan Reed (strained right hamstring) all were limited in practice, while cornerback Bashaud Breeland (unspecified back injury) completed a full practice and defensive end Kedric Golston (unspecified lower back injury) was added to the injury report, but was able to also finish a full practice.
