Just before the decision was to be announced in the Darren Wilson case in Ferguson, Missouri, I decided to forgo cable news and watch a live internet stream shot from the protestors’ viewpoint. I wanted the raw feed, so I could watch as if I were there in the crowd.
Right away, it appeared as if the protestors came ready to rumble, with vitriol and threats shouted at police even before the decision was read. Once the news was known that Officer Wilson would not be indicted in the shooting death of Michael Brown, the mood immediately changed for the worse. The anger and the hate grew right before my eyes with chants of “f$%^ the police” and “You’re all going to die” starting within moments after the news spread. Members of the mob shouted incendiary comments to the police such as: “This m!?*+$%&@#$ needs to burn!” or “I ain’t got no problem with Bin Laden, I got a problem with y’all,” and “I’m a free man and I’m not going back to being a slave.”
I’ve been to parts of Africa and I have seen people who had been slaves the day before. Trust me, Ferguson isn’t that bad. The death and poverty I’ve seen in Africa makes the arguments made by the race pimps and hustlers nothing but foolish. However, the actions by the Mob in Missouri are quite serious.
Young men wearing masks, not to hide from the cold but from the cameras and the police, were shown by a citizen journalist, @missjupiter1957, posting on her LiveStream. During the stream we actually witnessed the police tear-gas her. All through the gunfire, the honking horns, the profanity, property destruction, fights, mobs of people, broken glass and threats of arrest from the police, she kept her camera rolling. It was some of the best real reporting I’ve seen in a long time.
The worst of human nature unfolded before my eyes. No sense of decency or reason, just a mob fueled by emotion and years of victimhood education.
The death of Michael Brown is sad; no one wishes to see a young man lose his life in such a manner, but as someone posted on facebook.com/talk2rusty “Michael Brown’s family said they are “profoundly disappointed.” Disappointed in what? Disappointed in their son for committing violent felonies? Disappointed in their son for robbing a convenience store? Disappointed in their son for assaulting a police officer? Nope.
They are disappointed because an innocent police officer was not falsely charged for a crime he did not commit. Yet they claim they want “justice.” Obviously, they don’t.”
Is it OK to feel that way or does everything in today’s America need to be seen through the lens of color? Wasn’t this what Barack Obama was elected to heal?
We have a great divide in this nation, and today’s Democratic leaders — such as Mr. Obama, Eric Holder, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and their ilk — have done nothing but help fuel this fire and brainwash today’s youth into thinking this kind of behavior is acceptable. It is not!
Shame. Shame on them! The blood in Ferguson was not caused by Mr. Wilson. It was caused by those who profit from racial tensions like these. I have never witnessed something as base and lawless as this. May God have mercy on us.
