BOSTON (AP) — U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is on a tour of the Middle East with stops planned in Israel, the West Bank, and Jordan.

The trip was organized by the State Department and the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, of which the Massachusetts Democrat is a member.

Warren’s office says she is scheduled to meet with government officials in the region, and also visit with military troops from Massachusetts who are currently stationed in the area.

Warren plans to meet with Israeli government officials, representatives of the Palestinian Authority and officials of the Jordanian government.

She’ll also visit with representatives of the United Nations refugee agency, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and local non-governmental organizations.

The senator’s office did not say when Warren was planning to return.
