PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Northwest Rhode Island and parts of New England are under a winter storm watch that could snarl Thanksgiving travel plans.

The watch from the National Weather Service in Taunton, Massachusetts, is in effect from Wednesday morning through Thanksgiving morning. Accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are possible, with even higher amounts in some areas.

Forecasters say a mixture of rain and snow beginning Wednesday morning should change to all snow through the afternoon and into Wednesday night. The storm could significantly impact travel for the Thanksgiving holiday and make driving dangerous at times.

The watch also includes parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
