Myron May, the Florida State University gunman who shot and injured three before police turned their weapons on him and killed him, sent packages to eight of his acquaintances in the lead-up to Thursday’s shooting — and now authorities are saying to take care.
Law enforcement say the eight recipients need to call them when the packages arrive, ABC News reported.
The packages are due any day now. One reported recipient, Joe Paul, said he attended FSU with Mr. May, and the two touched base recently in Houston, ABC News reported.
Prior to the FSU shooting, May sent each of the eight a message that the packages were on their way, the media outlet reported.
“What did he send everyone? Was it a manifesto? Was it a message? I don’t know,” said Mr. Paul, ABC News reported. “I think I’m just as curious as everyone else.”
May, 31, was an FSU alumnus and attorney who opened fire at the college’s library, injuring three students. His girlfriend told police after the shooting that his mental state had deteriorated in recent weeks and that he had been acting erratically.
One of the shooting victims remains in critical condition. The other two suffered non-life threatening wounds, medical authorities said.
