Incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has put out the word to his fellow senators: Be prepared, come Jan. 6, Fridays will be work days.

The message came out via Mr. McConnell’s release of the 2015 Senate calendar, which indicates that the 114th Congress that begins Jan. 6 will include meetings on Fridays, The Hill reported.

Current Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid also had his calendar set for Friday meetings, but more often than not, he would schedule final votes before 4 p.m. on Thursdays, The Hill reported. The Senate, in fact, hasn’t worked a five-day week all year.

Only time will tell if Mr. McConnell caves to pressures to do similarly by his fellow senators — especially from those living on the West Coast who are traveling home.
