LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center in southern Indiana is shutting down for about a year to undergo renovations.
The Courier-Journal (https://cjky.it/1p3oFDr ) reports that the museum in Clarksville, Indiana, will close Monday for the work.
The renovations come after the museum raised $6 million for new exhibits. Dani Cummins, executive director of the Falls of the Ohio Foundation, says the current exhibits date to 1994 when the building first opened.
A grand reopening of the museum is expected in the fall of 2015.
The state park will continue to be open during construction. The park features one of the largest exposed fossil beds in the world.
The park is located on the banks of the Ohio River, across the river from Louisville.
