Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is heading back to the early presidential state of Iowa next month for a Polk County GOP Holiday Victory party, the Des Moines Register said.

The paper reported that the scheduled trip would mark the fourth time that Mr. Jindal visits Iowa this year.

Mr. Jindal, who is toying with a 2016 presidential run, has emerged as a frequent and high-profile critic of the Obama administration, particularly over its Common Core educational standards.

Mr. Jindal once supported the standards, but has sued the federal government, alleging that the Obama administration has tried to coerce states into adopting them. The standards have been blasted as federal overreach by many conservatives and tea party groups.
