Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs was officially ruled out of the Terrapins final two regular-season games by coach Randy Edsall on Thursday.
However, Edsall said that Diggs would be available for Maryland’s bowl next month. Diggs suffered a lacerated kidney against Penn State on Nov. 1 and has not played since.
He was also suspended for Maryland’s game against Michigan State on Nov. 15 for his involvement in a scuffle prior to the kickoff against the Nittany Lions. Diggs has 52 receptions for 654 yards and five touchdowns in nine games this season.
Edsall said Diggs would not be cleared for contact until Dec. 1.
Sophomore Jacquille Veii, who is next on the depth start, will likely start in the slot in place of Diggs against Michigan on Saturday. Veii started the Terps’ most recent game against the Spartans and had four catches for 45 yards.
