Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh said on a recent broadcast that not only does President Obama think he’s an emperor, rather than a duly elected president, but he revels in that identity.

Mr. Limbaugh first referred to Mr. Obama’s February 2013 remark, when he said, “I’m not … the emperor of the United States,” Newsmax reported.

Mr. Limbaugh then translated into what he perceived were Mr. Obama’s true views.

“What he didn’t say was, ’I don’t care about any of that. The only thing stopping me is there’s an election coming up and, when the elections’ over, that’s when I’ll do it. But I’m not going to do it before that because that will hurt my party and maybe me.’ He should have just told them to be patient and wait until after the election, because he doesn’t believe he’s not an emperor,” Mr. Limbaugh said, Newsmax reported.

Mr. Limbaugh then said Mr. Obama simply “lied,” and that his lie was a purposeful strategy, Newsmax said.

“Obama knows everything he’s doing,” he said. “He knows who he lies to, he knows why he lies, and he knows he’s going to get away with it. … He is exactly what he claims that he is not. He knows the American people are not ready for a dictator or an authoritarian or a statist. That’s why he’s got to lie. [But he] knows he’s violating the Constitution — he’s happy to do it, by the way.”

Mr. Limbaugh made the remarks in context of discussing the president’s expected Thursday announcement to unilaterally grant amnesty to about 5 million illegals.
