Organizing for Action, a group that was launched in 2013 to promote President Obama’s legislative agenda, is reportedly shelling out more than $1.2 million a year to rent out Mr. Obama’s campaign email list.

The Wall Street Journal, citing recently released tax filings, reported that OFA is paying the president’s campaign almost $5 million for a four-year rental of the highly coveted list.

OFA reported more than 27,000 volunteers across the country in 2013 and had more than 200 paid staff and former Obama campaign manager Jim Messina, who helped launch the group, said the list the group is renting had more than 30 million subscribers at the end of the president’s re-election campaign, the paper reported.
