Bravo and kudos to Rep.-elect Lee Zeldin, New York Republican, for already speaking out against the Obama administration’s abuse of Israel, our most trusted ally in the Middle East.

Mr. Zeldin, an Iraq War veteran who orchestrated one of the most impressive congressional victories of all time, recently criticized President Obama’s Israel policy, saying that it isn’t “the most intelligent, disciplined approach.”

Given that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is treated like a pariah every time he meets with Mr. Obama, I commend Mr. Zeldin for his restraint in not fully unloading on the current U.S. president. The fact is that for the past six years, Mr. Obama has treated our sworn enemies, including such terrorist-sponsoring nations as Iran, like friends and our trusted allies, such as Israel, like enemies.

My gravest concern about this president is that now he’s in a nothing-to-lose situation. The damage his incompetence, negligence and even subversiveness could do to our country and world could truly be everlasting. Heaven help us all if he secretly cuts a deal with Iran, allowing them to join the nuclear club.

At least with Mr. Zeldin, there’s one more political power voice that will vehemently oppose this abomination.
